HO Scale SD40T-2 diesel-electric locomotive with DCC and sound in Ohio Central livery. This ready-to-run model reproduces GM-EMD’s famous tunnel-motor design, delivering about 3,000 horsepower in a six-axle HO package. The real SD40T-2 earned its nickname for cooling-system modifications suited to tunnel service, a feature captured by the model’s rear-deck radiator intakes and detailed silhouette. Onboard Econami sound by SoundTraxx and DCC readiness with a 21‑pin NEM Quick Plug provide authentic operation and realistic engine, horn, and bell sounds on modern layouts, with LED lighting to enhance every scene.

The locomotive is built for HO layouts, featuring fine-scale handrails, see‑through cab windows, separately applied air tanks, and see-through dynamic brake fans for true-to-life detailing. The Ohio Central road-number 4027 version adds tall ditchlights, a large plow, air conditioning, and a cab-mounted K-5 horn with extended-range dynamic brakes and exhaust silencer, plus unique rear stripe art to reflect prototype detailing. It rides on RP25 wheels with a 5-pole motor and flywheels for smooth, quiet operation, is fully assembled and ready-to-run, and supports NMRA-compatible DCC functionality (with full slow-speed control and CV customization) as well as DC use.
