HO GP38-2 Locomotive with Sound is a ready-to-run HO-scale model designed for hobbyists who want authentic operation backed by built-in sound. This sound-ready locomotive includes a speaker, so you can hear the engine and horn as it runs. Based on the GP38-2 design widely used for switching and freight service across North America from the 1970s through the 1980s, it delivers versatile performance for yard work or mainline runs on modern layouts.

Built for dependable, smooth performance, the model features a heavy die-cast frame for traction and an all-wheel-drive drivetrain for quiet, reliable pulling power, powered by a five-pole motor with precision flywheels for steady operation. It is DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM connector, and it includes see-through cab windows, factory-installed Celcon handrails, and individually applied grab irons to enhance scale realism. LED headlights, ditch lights, and beacons illuminate the fronts as applicable, while separately mounted horns and McHenry operating-scale knuckle couplers add to the authentic operating experience. Fully assembled and decorated, with machined, nickel-plated wheels and RP25 contours for smooth tracking, it supports common layouts with an 18-inch minimum radius (22-inch recommended).
