HO 40' Express Boxcar PRR #64657 Plastic Model (ATH72246)

This HO-scale Pennsylvania Railroad 40-foot Express Boxcar is a detailed plastic model designed to represent the era’s mail and express cars. Decorated to match PRR rolling stock, it fits neatly on an HO layout and helps recreate authentic scenes of passenger-era express service.

Designed for realistic operation on HO layouts, the car features double Youngstown doors, a separately applied brake wheel and roof walk, and screw-mounted express-type trucks with 33-inch machined metal wheels in RP25 contours for smooth tracking. It is factory-weighted for steady running and uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale-knuckle couplers for prototypical coupling. The injection-molded body is highly detailed, with paint and printing applied for lifelike decoration, and it can negotiate minimum-radius curves of 18 inches. In prototype use, such 40-foot double-door boxcars carried mail and express traffic as part of passenger trains, and this model’s decoration is designed to complement a recent release of 60-foot arch-roof passenger cars.
