HO-scale SD40T-2 Locomotive in Southern Pacific's SP Speed Lettering scheme, road number 8237. This ready-to-run model faithfully reproduces SP's tunnel-motor era and the 1991 Speed Lettering updates, including an 88-inch nose with brake wheel, cab-mounted A/C, relocated P3 horn, front ditch lights, a modified front window, extended dynamic brakes, and the removal of front and rear SP light fixtures to cut maintenance.

Beyond the exterior, it delivers scale-detail and reliable operation: fine-scale handrails, see-through radiator grilles, photo-etched windshield wipers, separately applied air tanks, wire grab irons, rubber MU hoses with silver ends, and RP25-profile wheels for smooth operation on HO track. Fully assembled and ready-to-run, it uses a DCC-ready 21-pin NEM Quick Plug and, in sound-equipped versions, a Tsunami2 decoder for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds, plus excellent slow-speed control. It supports both DC and DCC operation, and a minimum 22-inch radius is recommended for best results on typical HO layouts.
