HO-scale Rio Grande Western SD40T-2 Locomotive with DCC and Sound, D&RGW 5405 — an accurate HO model designed to reproduce DRGW’s iconic tunnel-motor in detail. This ready-to-run locomotive includes a DCC decoder and SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, delivering realistic engine, horn, and bell sounds for immersive operation on HO layouts.

Prototype features include the 88-inch nose with brake wheel, Stratolight beacon, tall ditch lights, large Sinclair antenna, relocated P3 horn, and extended-range dynamic brakes, as well as fine-scale handrails, photo-etched windshield wipers, and see-through dynamic brake fans. The model runs on RP25 wheels with nickel-plated, blackened machined wheels, offers all-wheel-drive with a 5-pole motor for smooth, quiet operation, and is DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM Quick Plug. It includes a built-in Tsunami2 sound decoder, with sound and lighting functions operable in both DC and DCC modes, and is best suited for HO layouts with a 22-inch minimum radius.
