HO Scale SD40T-2 Diesel Locomotive with DCC and Sound in SP Speed Lettering livery. This HO-model recreates Southern Pacific's Speed Lettering era and is designed for HO layouts, offering authentic SP styling and functional DCC and onboard sound right out of the box. The Speed Lettering features reflect SP's 1991 updates, including an 88-inch nose with a brake wheel, front ditch lights, a relocated P3 horn, a modified front window, and adjusted light packages to reduce maintenance while preserving the look.

Power and detail: The six-axle tunnel-motor is driven by a 16-cylinder EMD 645E3 engine delivering 3,000 horsepower, with refinements like fine-scale handrails, see-through dynamic brake fans, LED lighting, and separate air tanks and grab irons. It rides on RP25-contoured wheels with McHenry scale knuckle couplers and includes an all-wheel drive drivetrain for smooth, quiet operation. Sound-equipped versions feature an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound that operates in both DC and DCC modes, with full function control in DCC; the model is DCC-ready via a 21-pin NEM plug. For best operation on HO layouts, a 22-inch minimum radius is recommended.
