An HO-scale SD40 diesel locomotive, this precision model brings the classic EMD SD40 to life on HO layouts. It captures the look of the prototype with LED lighting, see-through cab windows, and a host of finely applied details—photo-etched windshield wipers, wire grab irons, curved radiator fans, and a realistically detailed fuel tank.

Designed for reliable operation and easy upgrading, the locomotive features all-wheel drive with precision gears for smooth, quiet running and dependable current collection from all wheels. The injection-molded body and scale-accurate details deliver a highly realistic appearance, while the DCC-ready chassis accepts Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connectivity. Sound-equipped versions include an onboard decoder with SoundTraxx Econami and a single speaker; sound operates in both DC and DCC (some functions limited in DC). McHenry scale knuckle couplers keep couplings robust and are Kadee-compatible, and RP25 wheels help it track smoothly. It supports MU lashups and includes a CV chart for tuning; minimum operating radius is 18 inches (22 inches recommended).
