HO Cupola Caboose ATSF #999476 (ATH74028)

HO-scale Santa Fe Cupola Caboose is a detailed end-of-train model designed to cap a freight consist and reproduce the classic cupola-equipped caboose used by the Santa Fe. Cabooses provided shelter for crew at the end of trains, and the cupola above the roof offered an elevated view for the conductor and rear brakeman to observe the train and spot issues such as overheating wheel bearings, shifting loads, damaged equipment, and derailments.

Designed for HO-scale operation, the model features a finely detailed injection-molded body that is painted and printed for realistic decoration, clear windows, and separately applied smoke jack and brake wheel. It rides on Barber or Bettendorf swing-motion caboose trucks as used on the prototype, is weighted for steady performance, and uses machined metal wheels with RP-25 contours to run smoothly on most brands of track. Body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers provide authentic coupling, and a minimum radius of 15 inches ensures compatibility with a wide range of layouts.
