Designed for realistic operation on hobby layouts, it features a highly detailed injection-molded body, a weighted chassis for stable tracking, and painted and printed decoration for authentic appearance. It rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours for smooth performance on most popular track brands and uses body-mounted operating scale knuckle couplers for reliable coupling. Fine end handrails and ladders, a separately applied smoke jack and brake wheel, and Barber or Bettendorf swing-motion caboose trucks mirror the prototype, while a minimum radius of 15 inches ensures compatibility with standard HO curves.
