HO 40' Youngstown Door Box (ATH75347)

This HO-scale 40-foot Youngstown plug-door boxcar is a faithful recreation of a late-1960s Fruit Growers Express design. The insulated model uses 10-foot-wide plug doors for a tight seal against temperature changes and easier forklift loading, making it ideal for depicting canned goods and other temperature-sensitive freight on an HO layout.

Its features include separately applied brake wheel and ladders, 70-ton roller-bearing trucks, 33-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The finely detailed injection-molded body is painted and printed for realistic decoration, and the car is weighted for smooth running with a minimum 18-inch radius, ensuring dependable performance on standard HO track while matching prototypical paint schemes.
