HO 40' Ribbed 3-Bay Ballast Hopper SP #2 (ATH7647)

An HO scale, 40-foot ribbed, three-bay ballast hopper in Southern Pacific livery (road number 2) designed to carry ballast and other bulk loads on HO layouts, providing a realistic touch to a model railroad operation.

It features a removable load to simulate ballast in transit, separately applied wire grab irons and a brake wheel, and solid nickel-silver wheels with RP25 contours for smooth tracking. A weighted chassis, body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and a highly detailed injection-molded body with painted and printed decoration deliver a convincing, ready-to-run appearance. The model supports HO-scale curves with a minimum radius of 18 inches for reliable operation on standard layouts.
