HO Thrall High Side Gondola with Load, CPR #2 (ATH7672)

HO-scale Thrall high-side gondola with load, CPR #2 is an HO-model that recreates Thrall’s classic coal-haul gondola for freight layouts. The removable load lets you display cars full or empty, while wire and plastic handrails, stirrup steps, ladders, and detailed underbody work together to capture the look of an in-service car on a model railroad.

It rides on 100-ton trucks with 36" RP25 wheels and features separately-applied brake gear, including brake wheel, air reservoir, and brake cylinder, along with McHenry scale knuckle couplers. The injection-molded body is weighted for smooth, reliable operation on popular HO track, with a minimum radius of 18 inches. The model is primed for grime, offering faded base colors and authentic weathering potential that makes it an ideal starting point for adding rust and dirt to match a prototype coal-haul roster. Thrall’s heritage as a major manufacturer of high-side and related freight cars from the 1960s through the 1980s adds historical authenticity to a coal-service fleet.
