HO Scale Thrall High-Side Gondola with Load is a detailed freight car model designed to bring mid-century coal-haulage to HO-scale layouts. It features a removable load and a faithfully detailed injection-molded body, plus wire and plastic handrails, stirrup steps, ladders, and underbody details. The car rides on 100-ton trucks with 36-inch wheels and RP25 contours for compatibility with most HO track, and it uses McHenry scale knuckle spring couplers. A weighted shell and a minimum curve radius of 18 inches ensure smooth, reliable operation on common layouts.

Designed to mirror Thrall’s high-side gondolas used for coal service during the 1960s–1980s, the model includes a primed-for-grime finish: base colors faded to reflect prototype appearance, with a removable load that’s ideal for weathering and display. The separately-applied brake gear—brake wheel, air reservoir, and brake cylinder—adds to the authentic look, while the included weight helps keep the car steady on longer runs. This makes it a versatile choice for dioramas or active layouts that aim to portray in-service equipment on mid-century rails.
