HO Scale ACF 2970 Covered Hopper is a faithful two-bay Centerflow model designed for HO-scale freight layouts. The design reflects the 1950s-era hopper used for dense bulk cargos such as cement and sand, and reproduces the Centerflow body introduced by American Car and Foundry in the 1960s—rounded for structural strength and gravity unloading. With a 2,970-cubic-foot capacity, this model is sized to run smoothly on HO layouts with an 18-inch minimum radius.

Detailed beyond the basics, the model features round or trough hatches, a photo-etched roof walk, and separately applied wire grab irons, stirrup steps and brake wheel. The brake system is fully modeled with a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir with wire brake plumbing, while screw-mounted express-type trucks and machined RP25 wheels deliver reliable, smooth operation. Body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, a highly detailed injection-molded body, and careful painting and printing contribute to a realistic appearance. A Burlington Northern (BN) livery option is available to complement mid-century freight scenes.
