HO ACF 2970 Covered Hopper CB&Q #183947 (ATH81062)

HO scale ACF 2970 two-bay Centerflow covered hopper in CB&Q colors replicates a 1950s-era bulk car designed for dense loads such as cement and sand. The Centerflow design provides structural strength with less weight and makes gravity unloading easier, and the model captures the prototype’s 2,970 cubic feet capacity.

Designed for dependable HO-scale operation, the model features precise detailing: photo-etched roof walk, separately applied wire grab irons, stirrup steps and brake wheel, detailed outlets, and a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir with wire brake plumbing. It rides on screw-mounted express-type trucks with machined metal wheels in RP25 contours, is weighted for smooth running, and uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The injection-molded body is painted and printed for lifelike CB&Q decoration, and the car is fitted for standard HO layouts with a minimum radius of 18 inches.
