First entering service in the 1950s, the Centerflow design emphasizes a rounded body for structural strength and gravity unloading. Detail highlights include round or trough hatches, a photo-etched metal roof walk, and separately applied wire grab irons, stirrup steps, and brake wheel, plus a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir with wire brake plumbing.
