An HO-scale BethGon Coalporter with Load in BNSF #1 livery, this model reproduces a purpose-built coal car designed to haul coal in long unit trains on HO layouts.

Key features include a newly re-tooled body with separate wire-form grab irons and etched metal coupler platforms, a separately applied brake wheel, 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers. The car is weighted for reliable operation, painted and printed for realistic decoration, and offered in multiple road numbers with a minimum turning radius of 18 inches. The prototype behind the model reflects Bethlehem Steel’s Johnstown American bathtub-style design, featuring all-aluminum construction and a trough-style bottom that increases capacity and lowers the center of gravity for better tracking; one end is equipped with a rotary coupler to allow a train to feed through a rotary unloader without uncoupling.
