This HO-scale BethGon Coalporter with Load is a high-capacity coal car designed for realistic freight operations on model railroads. Based on Bethlehem Steel’s Johnstown American Corporation design, it features an all-aluminum body with a trough-style bottom for added capacity and a lower center of gravity for steadier tracking. One end is fitted with a rotary coupler to allow trains to feed through a rotary unloader without uncoupling, and a coal load is included to add immediate realism to yard and mainline runs.

Details include a newly re-tooled body, separate wire-form grab irons and etched metal coupler platforms, a separately applied brake wheel, and multiple road numbers. The model rides on 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and is weighted for optimum performance. It uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers and features a highly detailed injection-molded body painted and printed for realistic decoration. With a minimum radius of 18 inches, this coalporter is compatible with a wide range of layouts.
