HO 40' Pfaudler Milk Car Model (ATH84719)

HO 40' Pfaudler Milk Car Model (ATH84719)

HO scale 40-foot Pfaudler Milk Car is a precise reproduction of the bulk-milk carrier used on mid-century railways. Built for HO layouts, this model features screw-mounted trucks, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and a weighted chassis for smooth, reliable performance. The car sports body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers and a highly detailed injection-molded body painted and printed for realistic decoration. With a minimum radius of 11 inches, it runs cleanly on standard HO track and pairs well with era-appropriate rolling stock.

Prototype background: In the 1920s, the Pfaudler Company and General American Car Company produced wood-sheathed, insulated milk cars around two 6,000-gallon glass-lined tanks with a brine cooling system to keep milk at 38 degrees Fahrenheit. These bulk-milk cars rode on passenger-car trucks and were often painted Pullman green to match the era's passenger equipment, continuing in service into the 1950s.
