HO SW1000 Locomotive BNSF #3617 (ATH86742)

HO-scale SW1000 Locomotive, BNSF #3617, is a ready-to-run yard switcher presented in a weathered Primed For Grime finish that evokes decades of in-service use. Based on the EMD SW1000 built in the late 1960s, this model captures the Burlington Northern and later BNSF heritage with a green-and-white paint scheme and authentic details such as a roof-mounted beacon (flashing in DCC), a firecracker antenna, MU hoses, and a winterization cab window.

On the layout, the model offers flexible DCC options and realistic operation: DCC-ready versions include a 21-pin plug for easy decoder installation, while DCC and sound-equipped versions feature a Tsunami2 decoder with dual cube speakers. It also carries ground lights, a detailed cab interior, see-through radiator and cab windows, separately applied grab irons, and other period-correct detailing, all mounted on a highly detailed injection-molded body. With McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee compatible), RP25 wheels, and a smooth five-pole motor with all-wheel drive, it runs quietly and reliably on HO track with a minimum 18-inch radius; the Primed For Grime finish provides a convincing base that’s ready for additional grime and rust to further mimic in-service life.
