HO SW1000 Locomotive VIA #202 (ATH86747)

HO Scale VIA Rail SW1000 Locomotive in VIA Rail Canada livery. Officially licensed, this four-axle EMD switcher model recreates the yard locomotive VIA uses in its Montreal Maintenance Centre and is ready to run on HO layouts.

Designed for realistic operation, it features illuminated ground lights, a detailed cab interior, and fine-scale detailing. DCC-ready versions include a 21-pin plug for quick installation, while sound-equipped variants use Tsunami2 with dual cube speakers and NMRA-compatible functions in DCC mode. It employs all-wheel drive with precision gears for smooth, quiet performance, RP25 wheel contours for reliable tracking, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers compatible with Kadee. LED lighting and a minimum 18-inch radius ensure practical layout compatibility, while the model is fully assembled and painted. Currently two SW1000 units are owned and operated by VIA Rail Canada in the Montreal Maintenance Centre.
