HO-scale SW1000 Locomotive SSRX #8 is a ready-to-run HO model that recreates a General Motors EMD SW1000 switcher in SSRX livery. It’s offered in two digital configurations: a DCC-ready version with a 21-pin plug for easy layout control, and a DCC-equipped version with Tsunami2 sound and dual cube speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds. LED ground lights and a finely detailed injection-molded body help bring switching operations to life on industrial sidings or yards.

Based on the four-axle SW1000 design, this 1,000-horsepower switcher features a robust drive system with all-wheel power pickup and a refined 5-pole can motor for smooth, quiet operation. Realistic touches include a single-chime air horn and roller bearing trucks, see-through radiator grille and cab windows, separately applied grab irons, McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), and RP25 wheels for compatibility with most HO track. The model arrives fully assembled and ready to run, with painted and printed decoration and ground lighting, and it carries a minimum 18-inch radius requirement for reliable operation on tighter curves.
