This HO-scale SW1000 Locomotive with DCC & Sound, D&RGW #148, is a ready-to-run diesel switcher designed to bring authentic switching power to HO layouts. Recreating the 1,000-horsepower EMD SW1000, the model features a highly detailed injection-molded body, operating ground lights, see-through radiator grille and cab windows, and a detailed cab interior. DCC-ready versions use a 21-pin plug for easy DCC installation, while DCC & sound models add Tsunami2 sound with dual cube speakers and LED lighting for long-life operation, delivering lifelike engine, horn, and bell sounds.

Under the hood, a refined 5-pole skew-wound can motor with flywheels and a multi-link drivetrain provides smooth, quiet performance. All-wheel drive and electrical pickup ensure reliable power on HO tracks, with RP25-contoured wheels for compatibility with popular brands. The model carries Kadee-compatible knuckle couplers, lit ground lights, MU stands, exhaust stack, printed numberboards, and finely detailed grab irons and air tanks. It is ready to run out of the box and supports both DC and DCC operation (some functions may be limited on DC); a CV chart is included for fine-tuning, and the minimum radius is 18 inches to fit typical HO layouts.
