HO SD45T-2 Locomotive Union Pacific #4819 (ATH86867)

This HO-scale Union Pacific SD45T-2 locomotive, number 4819, is a detailed model designed for realistic operation on HO layouts. Recreating UP’s tunnel-motor era after inheriting SP power, it captures the prototype’s distinctive look with features such as a nose headlight, the late Dash-2 cab with an optional L-window, roof-mounted air conditioning, a large front plow, and front ditch lights.

Inside, the model delivers authentic performance with fine-scale handrails, see-through cab windows, LED lighting, and separately applied details like air tanks and grab irons. The drive system uses all-wheel power with a 5-pole motor and flywheels for smooth, quiet operation, and it is DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM Quick Plug. Nickel-plated, blackened machined wheels with RP25 contours ensure reliable tracking on common HO track, while the injection-molded body carries high detail. Sound-equipped versions include an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Economi sound that operates in both DC and DCC, with full function control in DCC and MU lashups. The real SD45T-2 is a six-axle diesel-electric engine delivering about 3,600 horsepower, nicknamed Tunnel Motors for its cooling design; operation is well-suited to layouts with an 18-inch minimum radius (22 inches recommended for best results).
