HO SD45T-2 Locomotive Canadian National #405 (ATH86875)

HO scale SD45T-2 Locomotive in Canadian National livery No. 405 recreates CN’s six-axle tunnel motor—a rebuilt SD45T‑2 CN inherited from ex-SP stock and used in iron ore service, designed for HO scale model railroading. Powered by a 20-cylinder 645-series engine delivering 3,600 horsepower, these tunnel motors earned their nickname for the rear cooling intake that helps prevent overheating in tunnels.

Detail-focused CN features include a nose headlight, a modified Dash-2 "L" window cab, roof air conditioning, a five-chime horn on the long hood, walkway ditch lights, and a small front anticlimber. The model also shows fine-scale handrails, photo-etched windshield wipers, separately applied air tanks, LED lighting, see-through cab windows, and see-through dynamic brake fans, all riding on RP25-contoured wheels with all-wheel drive and a 5-pole motor for smooth, quiet operation. It’s DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM plug and available in a sound-equipped version with onboard DCC and SoundTraxx Economi sound, which works in both DC and DCC and can be MU’d with other locomotives; CVs tailor performance.
