HO Scale SD45T-2 Locomotive, Undecorated for Southern Pacific, is a detailed, paint-ready model designed for hobbyists to customize their own SP roster. The undecorated shell includes SP-specific detailing to resemble Southern Pacific class 9209–9260, an SP front headlight package, and an L-window cab option, with extra detail parts in a poly bag for finishing touches. It’s a strong starting point for freelance liveries or prototype-inspired SP schemes.

On the layout, the six-axle diesel-electric delivers scale realism and reliable operation. Features include fine-scale handrails, photo-etched windshield wipers, separately applied air tanks, LED lighting, and McHenry operating scale knuckles. The model uses all-wheel drive with precision gears for smooth, quiet performance, a 5-pole motor with flywheels and a multi-link drivetrain, and DCC-ready 21-pin NEM plug. Nickel-plated, blackened machined wheels with RP25 contours roll on most HO track, while see-through cab windows and radiator grilles add to the look. The minimum radius is 18 inches (22 inches recommended). Sound-equipped versions include onboard DCC decoders with SoundTraxx Economi sound and full DCC functionality; engine, horn, and bell sounds operate in DC as well. The SD45T-2 prototype was built by GM-EMD between 1972 and 1975 with 3,600 horsepower and earned the nickname Tunnel Motors for its rear cooling intake design.
