HO-scale SD45T-2 Locomotive with DCC & Sound in Southern Pacific 9340 recreates SP’s six-axle Tunnel Motor for HO layouts. This diesel-electric model is designed to haul heavy freight through steep grades with authentic sound and lighting, featuring a full SP front headlight package with a cab gyralight that operates in DCC mode, an L-window cab, roof air conditioning and a bell, and a Nathan P-3 horn for prototype authenticity.

Built for realistic operation, the model showcases fine detailing, LED lighting, see-through cab windows and radiator grilles, and separately applied air tanks and wire grab irons. It is DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM plug and includes an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Economi sound that works on both DC and DCC, delivering full DCC functions when used on a DCC system and excellent slow-speed control. The locomotive features all-wheel drive with a 5-pole motor and flywheels for smooth performance, nickel-plated, blackened machined wheels with RP25 contours, McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and a minimum 18-inch radius (22 inches recommended) for reliable operation on most HO layouts.
