HO Scale 2-6-0 Mogul Steam Locomotive from Southern Pacific is a ready-to-run HO model designed to bring the distinctive character of a classic Mogul steam locomotive to a layout. It arrives fully assembled and decorated, featuring a heavy die-cast frame, a 5-pole motor with precision flywheels, and a multi-link drive for smooth operation. Realistic touches include see-through cab windows, separately applied wire-form details, a smoke stack, and a boiler-mounted bell, along with McHenry operating knuckle couplers and nickel-plated RP25 wheels for reliable traction. Designed for HO layouts, it uses traction tires on two driving wheels for extra pulling power and is DCC-ready with a 21-pin plug, with a minimum radius of 18 inches and a recommended 22 inches.

Sound-equipped variants provide an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Econami for authentic steam sound and full DCC functionality, with sound units operable in both DC and DCC and all functions NMRA-compatible in DCC mode. They offer precise slow-speed control and support MU lashups with the lead locomotive’s horn, bell, and lights, while many features can be customized via CV changes (CV chart included in the box).
