HO SD40 Locomotive with DCC and Sound Santa Fe #5014 (ATH87325)

This HO-scale Santa Fe SD40 diesel locomotive with DCC and sound recreates a 1970s-era freight hauler in the classic Santa Fe Pin Stripe scheme, numbered 5014. It features a Stratolite rooftop beacon (operates in DCC mode), bi-directional LED lighting, and an onboard Tsunami2 DCC/Sound decoder with dual speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell sounds. DCC-ready Quick Plug plug-and-play technology makes setup straightforward and it can run on both DC and DCC layouts for flexible operation.

On the track, the model delivers smooth, reliable performance thanks to a newly designed can motor and all-wheel drive with precise gearing. It rides on Flexicoil-C trucks with carefully detailed parts, uses McHenry scale knuckle couplers compatible with Kadee, and features RP25 wheel contours for compatibility with most brands of track. The injection-molded body is highly detailed and painted for realism, with see-through dynamic brake and cab windows and separately applied grab irons. Fully assembled and ready to run, it supports minimum radii of 18 inches (22 inches recommended) and includes a CV chart for easy customization.
