HO RTR SD38 with DCC and Sound CCGX #5202 (ATH88942)

HO-scale ready-to-run SD38 diesel locomotive with DCC and sound, designed to deliver authentic SD38/SD38AC operation on HO layouts. The model pairs a detailed injection-molded shell with an onboard Econami sound system from SoundTraxx and supports both DC and DCC control for flexible layout operation.

Fully assembled and decorated, it features see-through cab windows, separately applied grab irons, fine-scale handrails, and McHenry knuckle couplers with RP25 wheel contours for reliable performance on most HO tracks. It is DCC-ready with a 21-pin NEM Quick Plug, and sound-equipped versions provide engine, horn, and bell sounds that operate in both DC and DCC (full function control in DCC). Bi-directional lighting keeps headlight brightness consistent, and the all-wheel-drive drivetrain with a 5-pole motor delivers smooth, quiet operation. Prototype cues such as fuel-tank variations, ditch lights on both ends, and other SD38/SD38AC details add realism, with a minimum recommended layout radius of 22 inches.
