HO RTR SD38 Locomotive with DCC and Sound DT&I #250 (ATH88947)

HO-scale SD38 diesel-electric locomotive with DCC and sound in DT&I livery. This six-axle model reproduces the 2,000-horsepower SD38 family and is ready to run on a typical HO layout. It features a highly detailed injection-molded body and authentic DT&I decoration, delivering a faithful representation of the prototype that can become a standout on any roster.

Sound-equipped versions include onboard Econami Sound by SoundTraxx, with operation in both DC and DCC and full DCC functionality when used in DCC mode. The locomotive supports NMRA-compatible functions, precise slow-speed control, and bi-directional lighting. Built for smooth, quiet performance, it uses all-wheel drive with a 5-pole skew-wound motor and flywheels, RP25-contoured wheels, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers. It is DCC-ready with a 21-pin NMRA Quick Plug and arrives painted and printed for realistic decoration, with see-through cab windows and see-through dynamic brake and radiator fans. For best results on HO layouts, it is recommended to run on 22-inch-radius curves or larger.
