HO Auto-Max Carrier CMO 800025 (ATH96243)

HO Auto-Max Carrier is an HO-scale articulated auto rack modeled after Gunderson's Auto-Max design, built to haul vehicles on a single, long freight car and bring authentic car-haul action to a model railroad.

Its scale details include separately applied ladders, brake rigging, stirrups and handbrake details, a corrugated roof, full articulation with a flexible diaphragm, safety striping, 70-ton roller bearing trucks, 33-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, a weighted chassis for steady operation, body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, and a highly detailed injection-molded body with realistic paint and printing. A minimum curve radius of 22 inches is recommended for smooth operation. In prototype terms, Gunderson began producing the Auto-Max in 1999, a car capable of carrying 22 SUVs on three internal ramps and measuring over 140 feet long and about 20 feet tall.
