HO Auto-Max Carrier (WRWK) is an HO-scale model of Gunderson’s Auto-Max articulated auto rack car, designed to bring authentic intermodal operation to a model railroad. In real service, the Auto-Max carries 22 SUVs on three internal ramps, a capacity that highlights its distinctive length and load‑carrying design.

This highly detailed model includes separately applied ladders, brake rigging, stirrups, and handbrake details, plus a corrugated roof and full articulation with a flexible diaphragm. It features safety striping, 70-ton roller bearing trucks, 33-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and weight tuned for smooth, stable operation. Body-mounted McHenry scale-knuckle couplers, a finely detailed injection-molded body, and realistic paint and printing complete the presentation. The minimum operating radius is 22 inches, making it compatible with a wide range of HO layouts. The prototype Auto-Max, introduced by Gunderson in 1999, was built to carry 22 SUVs on three internal ramps, underscoring its focus on capacity and clearance for modern intermodal service.
