HO 30' NACC 8,000-Gallon Tank Car (ATH97171)

An HO-scale 30-foot NACC 8,000-gallon Tank Car, modeled after the North American Car Corporation’s compact 8,000-gallon design, commonly nicknamed the “Beer Can” tank car. This model is designed to haul smaller liquid loads and adds a distinctive, period-accurate touch to small-layout railroading.

Detailing is extensive, including a separate manway and vent, photo-etched metal platforms, wireform end and platform railings, ladders with bracing, and brake gear with an air reservoir and brake wheel. The underside is fully detailed with an outlet. It comes ready to roll on authentic 100-ton roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks, with machined metal wheels in RP25 contours for smooth operation on most tracks. Body-mounted McHenry operating AAR upper and lower shelf scale knuckle couplers keep handling realistic, while the highly detailed injection-molded body is accurately painted and printed. Weighted for steady operation, it accommodates minimum-radius curves as tight as 18 inches.
