HO 30' NACC 8,000-Gallon Tank Model (ATH97185)

This HO-scale 8,000-gallon NACC tank car is a faithful recreation of North American Car Corporation’s compact liquid-tank cars designed for smaller shipments. Common on North American rails from the 1970s through the 1990s, these short, recognizable cars—often nicknamed “Beer Can” tank cars—bring era-appropriate realism to HO layouts with authentic detailing and color schemes.

Built for HO hobbyists, the model features a highly detailed injection-molded body with separate manway and vent, photo-etched platforms, wireform end and platform railings, and separately applied ladders with bracing. It includes brake gear with air reservoir and brake wheel, full underside detail, and accurate underbody detailing. Ready-to-roll with 100-ton roller bearing or Bettendorf trucks per prototype, it rides on machined metal wheels with RP25 contours and body-mounted McHenry AAR upper and lower shelf scale knuckle couplers.
