The HO EMD SD90MAC-H Phase 2 Locomotive, featuring DCC and Sound, is adorned in the Union Pacific 'Flag' Legendary Liveries with the number 8557. This locomotive, introduced in 1995, was designed to be one of the most powerful single-engine diesel locomotives with an intended 6000 horsepower using EMD's 265H prime mover. However, the initial models were delivered with the EMD 710G engine, producing 4300 horsepower due to developmental issues with the larger engine. Despite these challenges, many of the 710G-engined SD90MACs exceeded their counterparts in service longevity, with many units still operational or rebuilt by various railroads.
