HO Scale EMD SD89MAC Locomotive, Painted Unlettered, is a ready-to-run model designed for HO layouts. It faithfully recreates the SD89MAC prototype—a 12-cylinder, 4500 horsepower version developed as a test bed for new technology and closely related to the SD90MAC family—giving hobbyists a historically informed power unit to operate and display on their railroad. The model is visually faithful with a full cab interior and see-through cab windows, and arrives fully assembled for immediate enjoyment.

Designed for DC and DCC operation, the SD89MAC is ready for decoder installation with Quick Plug technology and a 21-pin NEM connector. LED lighting, a heavy die-cast frame for traction, and a refined drivetrain contribute to smooth, quiet performance, while all-wheel electrical pickup and RP25 wheel contours ensure reliable operation on standard HO track. Fine detailing includes etched steps and wire grab irons, and the model is compatible with HO layouts using radii as small as 18 inches, with 22 inches recommended for best clearance and appearance around curves.
