The HO GEN Trinity 5161 Covered Hopper is a highly detailed model of a modern freight car designed for the transportation of agricultural products and dry chemicals. Featuring three different car numbers—KCS #286111, #286263, and #286332—this model showcases the prototypical design elements that are known and loved in railroading.

Among the notable features are the separate brake cylinder, valve, and air reservoir, complete with wire brake plumbing. Each end of the unit is equipped with a coupler cut lever and air hose for authenticity. The model boasts a photo-etched metal roofwalk, separately applied end cages, and etched end platforms, which contribute to its realism. It is designed with a standard size coupler draft gear box that has a screw-mounted lid, along with body-mounted, McHenry® operating scale knuckle couplers for operation ease.

The Genesis 100-ton trucks come with animated spinning roller bearing caps while the 36-inch machined metal wheels are designed with RP25 contours to operate smoothly across all popular brands of track.
