An HO-scale 57-foot FGE mechanical reefer finished in faded green and primed for grime, this model recreates the classic postwar mechanical refrigeration car in a ready-to-run package for HO layouts.

Detail runs deep, from see-through protective screens on the ends and visible end-wall corrugation to an inner bulkhead and see-through end platforms. Two exhaust stack styles replicate prototype variation, and the full underframe includes brake gear, piping, and a fuel tank. Factory end ladders and door-closure rods, trainline hoses with silver ends, and three styles of coupler cut levers reflect real-world variation. The car can feature body-mounted or truck-mounted brakes, uses McHenry scale knuckle couplers, rides on 100-ton roller-bearing trucks with rotating bearing caps, and wears machined RP25 wheels weighted for smooth operation with a minimum radius of 18 inches and a recommended 22 inches. Fully assembled and accurately painted and printed, the model is ready to run. The primed-for-grime finish gives an authentic in-service look and is a perfect base for adding grime and rust; sound-equipped variants, when offered, include onboard SoundTraxx audio with adjustable volume to enhance layout operation.
