HO GEN 57' FGE Mechanical Reefer FGCX #11743 (ATHG-1120)

HO-scale 57-foot mechanical reefer inspired by Fruit Growers Express, this is a fully assembled, ready-to-run model designed for HO layouts. Scaled from prototype drawings and field measurements, it delivers authentic proportions with see-through end screens, end platforms, an inner bulkhead, and accurately painted markings that reflect variations seen on the real fleet.

Features include a finely detailed injection-molded body, machined RP25 wheels on 100-ton roller bearing trucks, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers for reliable operation. Factory-applied end ladders, door closures, and trainline hoses with silver ends add to the realism, and two exhaust-stack styles mirror era differences. The model is weighted for smooth performance on typical HO layouts and supports minimum radii of 18 inches (22 inches recommended). Optional onboard SoundTraxx sound can be added, with audio recorded from an actual reefer and cycles on/off at low track power; volume is adjustable on the sound board. A grime-ready variant provides a worn, In-Service look with faded base colors to start weathering, and brakes can be configured as body-mounted or truck-mounted to match prototype configurations.
