The model features DCC-ready Quick Plug technology and, on sound-equipped versions, an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 and dual speakers for realistic engine, horn, and bell sounds in both DC and DCC operation.

Built for scale realism and dependable performance, it rides on a heavy die-cast frame with Genesis-style drive, a 5-pole skew-wound motor, machined flywheels, and a multi-link drivetrain for smooth, quiet operation. It includes LED lighting, illuminated ground lights above the front trucks and number boards, etched see-through walkway steps, full cab interior with see-through windows, and a host of prototype details such as windshields, lift rings, wire grab irons, and sander lines. Body-mounted scale knuckle couplers, RP25-contour wheels, all-wheel electrical pickup, and accurate paint schemes complete the package. For layout compatibility, the minimum radius is 18 inches, with 22 inches recommended for best performance on sharper curves.
