HO GP7 Locomotive with DCC and Sound is an HO-scale model that faithfully captures the classic EMD GP7 design for model railroad layouts. Built with a heavy die-cast frame and Genesis driveline, it delivers smooth, quiet pulling power, while RP25-profile wheels and Blomberg-B trucks ensure reliable operation on standard tracks. Inside and out, the model is richly detailed: see-through cab windows with a full cab interior, fine-scale Celcon handrails, etched radiator and fan grilles, and a detailed fuel tank with gauges, fillers, breather pipes, and retention tanks. Prototypical touches include coupler cut levers, trainline and MU hoses, MU stands, windscreen wipers, lift rings, and wire grab irons, plus roof details such as non-dynamic-unit access hatches and correctly placed bells. Body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) and LED lighting complete the realism, while Quick Plug plug-and-play DCC readiness with a 21-pin NMRA-style connector makes it easy to run on DC or DCC layouts. The model is painted and printed to prototype schemes and scaled from real references, delivering a convincing GP7 appearance.

Sound-equipped versions include onboard DCC decoders with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound, dual cube speakers for strong audio, and operation that works in both DC and DCC. In DCC mode, all functions are NMRA-compatible and controllable, while DC mode provides engine, horn, and bell sounds for immediate action. Fine slow-speed control and the ability to program a multiple-unit lashup—led by a lead unit with its own horn, bell, and lights—enhance operating realism, with a CV chart included to help tune performance. Designed for HO layouts, the GP7 requires a minimum 18-inch radius and ships in packaging that protects the model during storage.
