HO GP7 Locomotive with DCC and Sound, EL #1221 (ATHG-1259)

HO GP7 Locomotive with DCC and Sound, road number 1221, is a detailed HO-scale model of EMD’s GP7 switcher. It combines a Genesis driveline with a 5-pole skew-wound motor, precision flywheels, and a multi-link drivetrain housed in a heavy die-cast frame for strong, smooth pulling power. Features include LED lighting, see-through cab windows with a full interior, and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible), along with RP25-contoured wheels and all-wheel electrical pickup for reliable operation on most HO tracks. Designed for an 18-inch minimum radius and offering DCC-ready Quick Plug plug-and-play compatibility with a 21-pin NEM connector, it’s ready to enhance any HO layout right out of the box.

Sound-equipped versions add an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound and dual cube speakers for rich audio, with operation in both DC and DCC modes and full DCC functionality when used in DCC. Engine, horn, and bell sounds are active in DC, and many functions can be customized via CV changes (CV chart included). Prototype-accurate detailing includes a see-through cab with interior, a detailed fuel tank with fillers, gauges, and breather pipes, etched radiator and fan grilles, wire grab irons, fine Celcon handrails, and Blomberg-B trucks with bearing caps. Additional scale features such as roof access hatches on non-dynamic units and precise bell placement further enhance realism, while the heavy die-cast frame, RP25 wheels, and all-wheel pickup ensure smooth, dependable performance on HO layouts.
