This N-scale ACF 2970 two-bay covered hopper is a finely detailed model designed for authentic operation on N-scale layouts. Reproducing a mid-20th-century American Car and Foundry Centerflow design, the rounded body emphasizes structural strength and gravity unloading, matching the car’s 2,970 cubic foot capacity and its role in hauling bulk loads such as cement and sand.

Inside and out, the model showcases scale-accurate details—from a photo-etched metal roof walk, detailed outlets, and round or trough hatches to a separate brake cylinder, valve and air reservoir with brake plumbing. It rides on machined metal wheels with screw-mounted trucks and uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers for reliable handling. The chassis is weighted for smooth running on typical layouts, with a minimum curve radius of 9¾ inches.
