HO GP18 Locomotive CNW #1777 (ATHG-1354)

HO GP18 Locomotive CNW #1777 is an HO-scale replica of CNW’s GP18 diesel, designed to bring authentic prototype detail and operable realism to a model railroad layout. The model features a see-through cab with a full interior, fine-scale Celcon handrails, etched radiator and fan grilles, and a heavy die-cast frame for solid traction. Powered by a Genesis driveline with a 5-pole skew-wound motor, precision flywheels, and an all-wheel drivetrain, it delivers smooth, quiet operation, while RP25 contours and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers (Kadee compatible) help it run reliably on most track. DCC-ready Quick Plug connectivity with a 21-pin NEM connector simplifies decoder installation, and bidirectional LED lighting keeps headlight brightness consistent. Sound-equipped versions add onboard DCC decoding with SoundTraxx Tsunami2, dual cube speakers, and full DCC functionality, with engine, horn, and bell sounds operable in both DC and DCC modes.

CNW-specific detailing includes late walkway with inspection holes, a large 2350-gallon fuel tank, winterization hatch, early pilots with footboards, frame-side air tanks, and dual Blatt horns, along with non-dynamic brakes to reflect prototype equipment. The paint schemes are faithfully reproduced from prototype references, with roof-access hatches on non-dynamic units and scale-level handrails for a precise, museum-quality look. For operation, the model is designed for HO layouts with a minimum 18" radius and a recommended 22" radius for best performance, and it supports DC and DCC layouts through its 21-pin DCC-ready interface.
