HO GP18 Locomotive Southern CofG #171 X (ATHG-1363)

An HO-scale GP18 locomotive in Southern/CofG livery with road number 171X, designed for model railroad layouts to faithfully reproduce a late-1950s General Motors diesel. The model rides on a heavy die-cast frame with a Genesis driveline, featuring a 5-pole skew-wound motor for smooth, quiet pulling power, plus see-through cab windows with a full interior, etched radiator and fan grilles, and fine Celcon handrails. Body-mounted McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible) and RP25 wheel contours deliver reliable, true-to-scale operation on common HO track.

Southern/CofG-specific details include a SOU paint scheme with “C of G” sub lettering, road number 171X, Nathan P5 horn, pilot-mounted foot boards, hood-mounted bell, and a 1,300-gallon fuel tank. The design also features non-dynamic brakes, roof access hatches on non-dynamic units, and road-number–matched horn/bell placement.
