HO GEN GP38-2 Locomotive NS #5013 Model (ATHG-1400)

HO scale Norfolk Southern GP38-2 diesel locomotive, NS 5013, is a highly detailed, ready-to-run model that faithfully reproduces the GP38-2’s late-20th-century appearance and performance. The model features a heavy die-cast frame for traction, see-through cab windows, a detailed fuel tank with gauges and breather pipes, fine-scale Celcon handrails, and RP25 wheels for smooth operation on modern HO layouts. LED lighting adds realism, and the layout-friendly minimum radius is 18 inches, with body-mounted scale knuckles for authentic coupling.

Available in DC and DCC-ready configurations, the GP38-2 uses a Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector to enable easy decoder upgrades. Some variants include onboard DCC with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound and dual speakers for authentic engine, horn, and bell audio, while others offer non-sound operation.
