HO 13K Gallon Acid Tank Car Model (ATHG-1427)

This HO-scale model represents a 13,000-gallon acid tank car, designed to bring realistic industrial rail action to HO layouts. It runs on standard HO track and complements other freight equipment to depict acid-haul operations.

Two body variants reproduce early and late prototypes, with top-platform differences appropriate to each version, plus separate wire grabs, handrails, and etched metal walkways. The trucks feature animated rotating bearing caps, and the car uses body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers for reliable handling. A fully detailed underframe includes an air brake reservoir, control valve, and brake cylinder with plumbing and brake rods, while multiple road numbers provide variety across singles and 3-packs. Additional realism comes from end sills, coupler lift bars, trainline hoses, brake hoses, and other hardware. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours ensure smooth operation on popular track brands, and the minimum curve radius is 18 inches.
