HO 13K Gallon Acid Tank Car PROX #15229 (ATHG-1428)

An HO scale 13,000-gallon acid tank car designed for realistic HO-model railroad layouts. The model reproduces the prototype’s two body phases (early and late) and includes top platforms appropriate to each phase, along with separate wire grabs and handrails for an authentic look.

Inside, the car carries full underframe detailing, including air brake reservoir, control valve, and brake cylinder with plumbing and brake rods. It features etched metal walkways, different brake systems as appropriate for the prototype, and end sill variations, plus coupler lift bars, trainline hoses, brake hoses, and other hardware. The trucks are equipped with animated rotating bearing caps, and body-mounted McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers ensure reliable coupling. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours run smoothly on most HO track, and the model includes multiple road numbers across singles and 3-packs. Minimum radius for operation is 18 inches.
