N 13K Gallon Acid Tank Car FXE #418042 (ATHG-1476)

An N-scale 13,000-gallon acid tank car in FXE livery, this model delivers prototype-level realism to an N scale freight roster. It is designed for use on modern layouts, offering a believable addition to any freight train with accurate proportions and detailed surfaces.

Built with a host of authentic details, it features body-mounted Type F double-shelf McHenry couplers, rubber trainline hoses, and full underbody brake and train line piping. The model includes two body phases—early and late—with appropriate brake systems to match the prototype, and is weighted to NMRA RP-20.1 guidelines for stable operation. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours run on Code 40, 55, and 80 track, while separately applied metal grab irons and handrails, coupler cut levers, and etched stainless steel crossover platforms and top platforms enhance realism. Varying top platforms and end sills are included as appropriate to the prototype.
